With the addition of Mikk Vainik to the Board of Directors, TEXroad gains exceptional knowledge in bridging the gap between the public and private sector as they transform the textile industry.
Mikk’s experience working in the public sector, cultivating startups and bridging the gap between the two makes him a unique and valuable member of the team. His innovative perspective and guidance will provide strong support for TEXroad’s mission of using data as a common language to align the public and private sectors, close knowledge gaps and develop economic incentives to scale circular textiles.
“Mikk has been a champion of TEXroad since our beginning as a project in the Accelerate Estonia program in 2021. His insight and approach have helped us in both small and large ways, and it is really exciting to have him as an official part of our organization,” said Traci Kinden, Acting Director and Board Member.
“I believe every enterprise should be problem-driven. And if it is the right problem to solve, then benefits will follow. TEXroad is a beautiful example of acting boldly to solve a wicked problem - when data meets textiles. With tips and tricks from both the public and private sector, there is an exciting chance of success for textiles to be among the first champions of a circular economy,” said Mikk.
He is currently working as the Head of Development at Rohetiiger (Green Tiger) in Estonia, where he is steering pioneering companies toward more sustainable economic models. Mikk joins Luc Kikkert, Ann Runnel and Traci Kinden on TEXroad’s Board of Directors.
