New report: Textile-to-Textile Recycled Fiber Availability Data for Apparel and Home Textiles

How much textile-to-textile recycled fibre is actually available today and what does 2030 realistically look like? A report we contributed to — alongside Textile Exchange, Fashion for Good and Reverse Resources — takes a first shot at answering that.
It provides a global approach to assessing current and future availability of textile-to-textile recycled fibre for apparel and home textiles — bringing together previously fragmented data on post-consumer and post-industrial waste, recycling capacity, and projections to 2030.
TEXroad contributed to estimating volumes of discarded post-consumer textiles available for recycling and advised on the model. Working through the data was a reminder of how much foundational work is still needed. The gaps in availability, consistency, and comparability of textile data are real, and they matter for everything from EPR design to recycling investment.
